Water and Nature Playground

There´s always something going on at Ottingerhof! In spring of 2014, we began a little something called our Water and Nature Playground. This past winter we were busy working on building gutters and designed a childrens sand and water table with a floodgate. We were unable to construct water wheels ourselves (it turned out to be quite a challenge for our woodworking skills), but a good friend of ours saved the day and helped out with building it himself. Your jaws will drop when you see how good it looks now 🙂.

Bit by bit we have brought together the different components for our natural playground. In Spring the time had come and the excavator rolled onto the grounds for the first time. There was digging and building, the old tractor tires were recycled into a climbing tower, and Sandra crafted together some lovely Wooden Chimes. Each piece of our cozy natural playground at Ottingerhof has been constructed with lots of love . We look forward to seeing our little visitors during the summer, who get to try out the area for the first time. Until everything is finished and ready to go, you might still hear “pass me that hammer!” or “hand me the shovel” during construction. Our big adventurers also have something they will enjoy. With a campfire and a place to barbeque and hammock for relaxation, you can be sure to let loose and unwind.

Potted Herbs for Our Guests
A lovely variety of healthy and yummy herbs grow in our little vegetable garden each summer. We thought it would be nice to let you, our dear guests, also experience their delightful scent and delicious flavor. That´s why every summer, we offer a small, but fine assortment of naturally grown, healthy herbs for your use.

From Rosemary and Parsley to Scots Lovage, and even Mint, Thyme, and Chives, these herbs are sure to liven up your meals during your stay.

We are sure to have the right herb to suit everyones taste!
